Enhancing your mobility is the key to unlocking a joyful and effective movement practice. But what exactly is mobility? It’s best described as usable ranges of motion—the ability to move freely and efficiently within those ranges. True mobility goes beyond flexibility; it combines range of motion, strength, and joint control, enabling smooth, coordinated movements while evenly distributing forces throughout the body.
When mobility is compromised, you may experience stiffness, limitations, or even pain. Simply stretching isn’t enough; your muscles need the strength to support the movement you aim to achieve. Lead by Eddie and Willemieke, you’ll dive deep into the concept of mobility: how it works, why it matters, and, most importantly, how to expand it. We’ll focus on three key regions of the body: 1. Knee, ankle, and foot 2. Hips and lower spine 3. Thoracic spine and shoulders.
