NOT READY TO COMMIT?
This training explores mobility as a blend of strength, control and usable flexibility, not just passive range. You'll move beyond stretching to build joint control, improve coordination and support fluid, sustainable movement. We focus on three key areas: lower body, spine and shoulders, with practical drills and breath-based mobility work you can apply to your own practice and teaching.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
A clear understanding of what mobility really is (and isn't)
Strength-based mobility tools you can use in any class
A better sense of your own limitations, patterns and potential
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING
Hear it from them
01

Mobility vs. flexibility
Learn why stretching alone isn't enough, and how mobility combines range of motion, strength and joint control to support long-term freedom in movement.
02

Targeted mobility work
Explore drills and techniques for three key areas: knee, ankle and foot; hips and lower spine; thoracic spine and shoulders. Learn to apply them intelligently, for yourself and in your teaching.
03

Integration through movement
Blend mobility work into your sequences and warm-ups, enhance your students' body awareness, and support long-term joint health with movement that feels both smart and satisfying.

Program overview
HANDS-ON TRAINING

Lunch break
Labs: drills, progressions and cueing in small groups
Integration: building mobility into your classes
WHY THIS TRAINING MATTERS
Most classes stretch. Few build the strength and control that make a range usable. That's why students stay stiff, or flexible but unstable, however long they practise.
This training gives you a clear way to work with mobility: what to train, why, and how to fit it into any class without turning it into a gym session.
It counts toward the 300h Modern Vinyasa, and stands on its own for any movement teacher.
YOU'LL BE ABLE TO
Explain the difference between mobility and flexibility
Teach drills for the lower body, spine and shoulders
Build mobility into warm-ups and sequences
Adapt mobility work to different bodies and levels

Who you'll learn from
Eddie van Dongen and Willemieke Verweij teach this training together. Eddie brings a grounded, science-based approach to functional movement and strength development; Willemieke brings years of experience in dance, somatic movement and yoga. Together they blend precision with creativity and strength with subtlety, to help you move, and teach, with more clarity, control and fluidity.
Eddie and Willemieke helped me understand what mobility really is, and gave me a lot of ideas to include it in my classes.

YOUR QUESTIONS
Good to know
Do I need a Vinyasa background for the weekend trainings and immersives?
No. Our weekend trainings and immersives are open to teachers of any style: yoga, Pilates, barre or dance. Being familiar with flow-style classes helps, but you don't need a Vinyasa background or a 200h Vinyasa training.
Are the manuals included?
No, the manuals are given to you as part of the training.
Do I need to be enrolled in the 300h Modern Vinyasa training to join this module?
No, you’re welcome to join this module as a standalone training. If you decide later to enrol in the full 300h programme, this module will count toward your certification.
How good does my English need to be?
Our trainee & trainer(s) community is international and multilingual: you’ll hear many accents and cultural backgrounds in the room. You do need a good understanding of English and the ability to communicate in it, but your English doesn’t have to be perfect. You’re always welcome to ask for clarification or repetition during the training.
