Lou
I really like Felix's guidance. I built up a relatively good condition in a short time without it really feeling heavy. The training sessions are fun, but there is also a lot of hard work. I've never really been reluctant to go there and that's coming from a person who hated sports
Jimena
What I like about Robinson’s classes is that I feel like it’s a workout and a form of self care. I choose to continue coming every week, because I’ve noticed an improvement in my core strength, flexibility and mind-body connection. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good balance of physical activity and tuning into yourself
Jennifer
Willemieke's lessons focus on those small, often overlooked muscles that play a crucial role in activating and strengthening the larger ones. With her extensive knowledge of the body, she creates diverse and innovative classes that keep you engaged and challenged. While the work can be intense, it’s always enjoyable and rewarding!

Your Questions

What is Modern Pilates?

Classical Pilates presents a set sequence of exercises with a particular order. Modern day Pilates aims to make the method more accessible and updated with recent scientific insights. Exercises are prescribed in a series of progressions, to start with lower level exercise and gradually work up to more demand.

What are the foundations of Pilates?

The foundation covers the why, what and how of the method. We look at the primary focus, function and intention of the exercises. We provide you with the essentials that are required to start teaching and help others progress in Pilates.

What does a training day look like?

Days start with group practice, after which we look into technical and mechanical details of the morning's sequence. We train didactics in small groups, explaining the exercises to each other. After lunch break: more movement & applied anatomy. Late afternoon: more didactic theory and practice.

How do I prepare for training days?

A training day is full of movement; in the brain and body. Make sure to be well rested & fit! You’ll receive reading material and video content as assignments to study at home during the week. Reserve 2-3 hours for your weekly homework.

Will I be able to teach afterwards?

Yes! We encourage you to start teaching when you’ve completed your training. There will be plenty of opportunity to practice teaching with fellow trainees and feedback provided from them and the trainers. If you want extra practice, we recommend teaching a friend or family member during the weekdays.

Not sure if you want to teach, but want to learn more about Pilates?

Beside teaching skills, there are more competencies to be gained and subjects explored in-depth. Other focusses are: exercise technique, movement skills, observation and eye for movement efficiency, progressive training and sequencing, and the logic behind Pilates class formats. However, teaching labs are part of the weekly training day - by explaining to others you repeat and remember better!

Will there be an exam?

Yes! We will assess your comprehension of the training's content. Passing the theory and practical exam will provide you with a certificate of completion.

How good does my English need to be?

Our trainee & trainer(s) community is international and multilingual: you’ll hear many accents and cultural backgrounds in the room. You do need a good understanding of English and the ability to communicate in it, but your English doesn’t have to be perfect. You’re always welcome to ask for clarification or repetition during the training.
