WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

Hear it from them

01

Functional & embodied anatomy

Delve deep into the fundamentals of the musculoskeletal system and gain a comprehensive understanding of how joints and muscles function. Explore the application of this knowledge within the context of your yoga practice.

02

Alignment-based study of asanas

Embark on a comprehensive exploration of asana alignments, rooted in anatomical knowledge. Our approach involves organising asanas into families based on key actions, such as backbends, forward bends, and more. Learn to recognise common compensation tendencies on different bodies, empowering you to modify postures effectively.

03

Safe and intelligent sequencing

You'll learn sequencing through a set of clear, action-based sequence blueprints designed to support safe, logical, and adaptable vinyasa classes. These sequences give you a strong foundation to start teaching right away, while remaining flexible enough to adjust intensity and level.

04

Modern perspectives on traditional philosophy

Delve into historical context and the influences of different cultures on yoga's organic evolution. Our intention is not to prescribe a specific lifestyle or discipline, but rather to broaden your horizons and inspire you with diverse and profound wisdom.

05

Authentic teaching & presence

We will delve into important questions that will shape your teaching path: Who do you aspire to be as a teacher? What values and principles are significant to you? Identifying your strengths allows you to navigate your path with authenticity and integrity.

06

Cueing, voice & holding space

Learn to hold space for a group through clear class structure, attentive cueing, language and voice. You teach on every weekend, with observation and feedback, so you build real confidence in front of a room.

THE PROGRAMME

Program overview

Our training is designed to deepen your personal practice, refine your teaching skills, and guide you in finding your authentic voice as a yoga teacher. The programme balances movement, theory, hands-on teaching, and presence work, offering a rich, immersive learning experience.

Weekend 1

9–11 October 2026

The Blueprint

This opening weekend lays the foundation of the training. We establish shared language, intentions, and core principles of Modern Vinyasa. You'll explore alignment architecture, breath awareness, and how movement is organised intelligently. This weekend sets the structural and conceptual framework that will support everything that follows: in practice, teaching, and reflection.

Weekend 2

13–15 November 2026

Roots & Foundations

We focus on the relationship between feet, knees, and hips to build stability and clarity in the lower body. Balance, splits, and forward folds become tools to understand direction, load, and support. Alongside this physical grounding, we begin exploring the early roots of yoga, looking back in time to understand where these practices emerge from and how structure creates meaning, both on and off the mat.

Weekend 3

11–13 December 2026

Broadening Perspective

We expand movement into the coronal plane, exploring lateral movements, hip openings in multiple directions, and adaptability in transitions. As physical options widen, so does perspective: we look at how yoga worldviews evolved through history, inviting curiosity, inquiry, and a deeper sense of yoga as a living, changing tradition.

Weekend 4

8–10 January 2027

Flowing from Centre

Attention moves to the spine and central organisation of the body. We explore spine flexion, extension, rotation, and lateral flexion while refining how movement originates from the centre. This weekend emphasises intuition, presence, and action guided by inner connection. We move with purpose and trust, allowing action to arise from alignment (physical and spiritual) rather than effort alone.

Weekend 5

5–7 February 2027

Holding Space

Here we shift our physical attention toward the upper girdle: shoulders and arms, and how we meet the world through action, voice, and presence. Arm variations in the practice open up possibilities for outer connection, confidence, and responsiveness beyond the mat. You'll also explore voice and teaching presence, learning how to hold space for others through clear structure, attentive cueing, and an embodied way of being.

Retreat week

1–7 March 2027 · Domburg

Living the Practice

This retreat week offers space for everything to come together. Through shared practice, teaching, reflection, and time together, learning settles beyond concepts and into experience. You'll teach in small groups, receive feedback, and gradually step into teaching the full group, held by a supportive environment. We also look at how yoga has evolved over time, shaping the wide range of practices we encounter today, inviting integration, confidence, and a deeper sense of embodiment.

Closing days

20–21 March 2027

Closure & Continuity

These final days offer space to close the training and look ahead. We reflect on the journey, gather key learnings, and explore how to continue practising and teaching beyond the programme. You'll look at practical next steps and have the opportunity to teach donation-based classes for invited friends and family, gently transitioning from training into sharing the practice in the wider world.

HANDS-ON TRAINING

As part of your training, you'll attend 16 classes with the trainers and assist in 2, at Studio Tribes, gaining hands-on experience and deepening your practice.

A DAY AT THE TRAINING

Alignment-based and vinyasa practice
Anatomy and asana technique workshop
Teaching and sequencing lab
Dinner break (1 hour)
Philosophy discussion or sharing circle

WHY THIS TRAINING MATTERS

Most teacher trainings give you a sequence to follow and poses to demonstrate. This training gives you something rarer: a real understanding of how movement works, in your body, in your students' bodies, in every class you'll ever teach.
We built the Modern Vinyasa Teacher Training because we couldn't find a training that held both depth and warmth. One that took anatomy seriously without losing the soul and the philosophy of the practice. One that made space for humour, doubt, friendship and real learning, alongside the rigour.
It's for practitioners ready to go deeper, whether or not teaching is your goal. Many trainees join to deepen their own practice; some discover a passion for teaching along the way. Both are welcome.

YOU'LL BE ABLE TO

Teach with confidence in your cueing and your own teaching voice

Adapt your teaching to different bodies, levels and needs

Bring somatic and breath tools to yourself and your students

Draw on a philosophy framework that's grounded, not dogmatic

YOUR QUESTIONS

Good to know

What does a 200h training weekend look like?

Weekends run on Fridays 18:00–20:00, Saturdays 12:00–20:00 and Sundays 10:00–18:00. The programme for each weekend varies and is sent to you the week before.

The weekends include alignment-based and vinyasa practices, anatomy and asana technique workshops, teaching and sequencing labs, philosophy discussions and sharing circles. There's a 1-hour dinner break and smaller breaks throughout the day.

Do I have to take classes at Tribes during the 200h?

Yes. Part of your training is attending 16 classes with Fanny & Willemieke, and assisting in 2 classes with the trainers. Any of their classes count, even if they're not strictly Vinyasa-based.

To attend classes at Tribes, you'll need a membership or punch card. As a trainee, you get 20% off: the discount code is shared with you after registration.

If needed, a few of Fanny's online classes can also count toward your total, on request and depending on your situation.

What’s the 200h final assessment about?

The final assessment includes a short open-book essay, done at home, and a group teaching exam: you teach a sequence together in a small group of 3–4, each taking a part. You'll have plenty of time to prepare: it's all about learning, not perfection.

Is homework given during the training?

You’ll receive a short list of things to review between weekends, usually a mix of reading, revisiting key material, and practising teaching.

That said, how much time you dedicate is completely up to you. We trust you to listen to your own rhythm and choose where to focus your energy, based on your interests and life responsibilities.

Do I have to buy manuals or books for the 200h?

The manuals are included in the training. You'll buy two books yourself: one on anatomy (about €18) and one on philosophy, which you choose from three options (€10–20 each). We present the philosophy options later in the training, once we've introduced the foundational concepts of yoga philosophy.

Do I need a Vinyasa background for the 200h?

No. We simply expect you to be familiar with flow-style classes, at a studio or at home. You don't need a Vinyasa-specific background, and movement teachers from other disciplines (Pilates, dance, barre…) are very welcome.

How good does my English need to be?

Our trainee & trainer(s) community is international and multilingual: you’ll hear many accents and cultural backgrounds in the room. You do need a good understanding of English and the ability to communicate in it, but your English doesn’t have to be perfect. You’re always welcome to ask for clarification or repetition during the training.
