The Essence

Yin Asana Foundations & Modifications

This immersive module lays the groundwork for teaching and practicing Yin with insight, safety, and intention. You’ll explore 22 foundational Yin postures for the lower body, while learning to adapt and modify each pose for different body types, structural variations, and energetic needs.

Rooted in anatomical awareness, fascia theory, and embodied mindfulness, this training offers both personal depth and practical teaching tools. Whether you're newer to Yin or looking to refresh your understanding, this is a space to slow down, feel deeply, and learn with clarity and care.

What You'll Learn

Understand the unique qualities of Yin: its physical, energetic, and philosophical roots — including Taoism, stillness, and receptivity.

Explore skeletal diversity, fascia theory, and how to support a wide range of students through intelligent, individualized modifications.

Learn to cue and hold space with presence. Use props purposefully to guide depth, pressure, or support — and embody the energy of Yin in your teaching.

Learn From

Indra Patternotte
She teaches from a place of grounded curiosity and deep experience. With a background in movement, dance, and mindfulness, she’s been guiding students for over two decades and has logged more than 8,000 teaching hours.

Her classes blend anatomical intelligence, energetic sensitivity, and creative expression — always with a focus on safety, empowerment, and self-awareness. Indra believes movement is a doorway to our most authentic selves, and she’s passionate about creating space where each student feels supported to grow, express, and transform.

Willemieke Verweij
A teacher and dancer who brings anatomy to life through somatics and movement. Willemieke’s approach is rooted in presence and embodiment, helping students feel anatomy from the inside out.

Robinson von Grumbkow
A yoga teacher and philosopher known for making complex ideas feel grounded and accessible. He weaves Taoist principles and Yin philosophy into everyday practice with clarity, curiosity, and warmth.

Additionally, it is recommended to set aside 2-4 hours per week for self-practice and study to maximize the benefits of your training.

Certificate

Upon completing the module, you will be eligible to receive a certificate for Continuing Education with Yoga Alliance, effective immediately.

Upon completing all four modules, you will receive your 200-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Certificate (Yoga Alliance certified).
